Meet The Owners
Oak Ridge Event Center is owned and cared for by John & Dorothy Wagler & family, whose love for family, land, and togetherness is at the heart of everything here.
John grew up in Bloomfield and has called the area home since 1976. In 2002, he purchased land just down the road and built the family home, drawn to the quiet, wooded ridges. As the owner of Wagler Builders Barn Restoration & Metal Roofing Company, John brings a deep respect for craftsmanship and care to the property. When he’s not working, you’ll likely find him outdoors hunting, enjoying nature, or in the kitchen cooking — especially his famous chicken.
Dorothy grew up in Arthur, Illinois, and moved to Iowa in 2004. She and John got married in 2006 and are proud parents of four children. As a family, they enjoy traveling, attending church events and spending time outdoors together.
Oak Ridge Event Center is truly a family effort, with John and Dorothy’s children all playing a role in the business.
Brandon, the oldest, works alongside John at Wagler Builders and got married to his wife, Sarah, in October of this year. He enjoys watching and playing sports, hunting, and fishing. He and Sarah love taking road trips and attending sporting events together.
Vanessa, the oldest daughter, runs her own photography business, capturing seniors, couples, and weddings. When she’s not behind the camera, she enjoys traveling, volleyball, and spending time with friends.
Kara owns a house-cleaning business and brings her hardworking spirit to everything she does. She loves music, volleyball, and staying involved in church events.
Vidalia, the youngest, has a big heart for others and enjoys traveling, cooking, baking, and spending time doing Bible studies.
Oak Ridge Event Center grew out of their shared desire to create a place where people can gather, slow down, and feel at home. For the Wagler's, this isn’t just a venue — it’s an extension of the life they love and the community they’re excited to welcome.
